My Son the Chess Master

My son returned last night from the Chess Nationals.  This year they were held in Minneapolis (not exactly as exciting as New Orleans last year!).  You have to give credit to a fifteen year old who gives up half of his Spring vacation to compete in a Chess tournament, don’t you think?

I do.

I am really proud of him.  He came home sporting a HUGE individual trophy!!! He came in 20th place out of the top players in the country… top ten percent in the tournament.  His school also placed and received a plaque.  Go team!

Does anyone know of any colleges that have scholarships for Chess players? Just kidding… sort of.
