My teenaged son read the trilogy with gusto so he was excited to see the movie when it opened. I wanted to see “Bully” instead, but he refused, so we ended up at “The Hunger Games” this weekend. I expected to hate it.
I liked it! I liked it a lot. My son liked it too. Even my husband liked it. (My daughter, however, didn’t like it at all — she saw it with other people).
The premise was interesting. The costumes and scenery were great. The acting was top notch. Jennifer Lawrence can really light up the screen, and she did so here as Katniss Everdeen.
I don’t care how old you are. “The Hunger Games” is good fun. I am giving it three thumbs up out of three. I am not counting my daughter because she didn’t see it with us so I don’t want her to skew the results.
