We tried to have dinner at Super Linda on Friday night. We were a table of four. I emailed their reservationist and was told that they were completely full. Not even an offer for a table at 5:30 or 11:45 p.m.
Don’t believe what you read. As I have written before, just showing up is a lot more effective. Last night we showed up and the place was not very busy. They sat us right away and we had our choice of floors and tables.
Super Linda was really good. On the corner of Reade and West Broadway, it is in the spot where the old dated Greek diner used to be. They did a great renovation — you can hardly recognize it as Delphi. It is modern and comfortable. The people from La Esquina are behind it, which was a good sign. La Esquina is great, don’t you think?
The food was delicious. The drinks are interesting and well presented. If anything, the service was a bit too rushed for my taste. I like to linger a bit when I’m out with my man, but they were in a bit of a hurry for an upcoming reservation (or so they said). The prices were reasonable.
Tribeca needed Super Linda and now they have it. We give it two enthusiastic thumbs up. It’s Latin. It’s hip. It’s a must try.
