No Worries in Jamaica

What are we worrying about in Jamaica?

How is the weather in Jamaica?

What are we doing in Jamaica?

If you want to relax, regroup, refresh, this is the perfect place.  If you’re looking for great food, shopping and sightseeing, it’s the wrong place.  Three nights is all you need.  We have been completely relaxed since the first day, albeit tired.

From NYC, we were at our hotel, sitting on the beach, at 10:30 a.m. (no, we did not take a red eye)!

The strangest thing about Jamaica? They listen to and play the same exact songs every day.  “No Woman No Cry”, “I Shot the Sheriff”, “One Love, One Heart”… they play them over and over and over and over again.  They play them with love and with gusto.  I have visiting Jamaica for over twenty years, and this fact has never failed to amaze me.  In the States, we listen to new music all the time.  In Jamaica, they are content with their Bob Marley, their Jimmy Cliff.

Maybe they’re smoking the spliff.  I don’t know.  But I will tell you this.  The natives are happy with very little.  Maybe it’s the music.  Maybe it’s the beach.  Maybe it’s the almost-always gorgeous weather.  Maybe we could learn a lesson from them.

Maybe not.

If you have to worry you can think about where to have lunch or dinner.

If you don’t mind, where are you staying? Goldeneye? Half Moon Bay?
