My daughter and I saw two very unimportant movies this week. If you want to sit back and relax, read on. The first was “The Vow”. This is the one where a wife loses her memory and no longer recognizes her life, her husband, all the things that she has lived through for many years. It is sappy and sad and a bit frustrating, but if you like love stories and Nicholas Sparks books, you should see it. Rachel McAdams is always cute and Channing Tatum is beautiful to watch.
Next, we saw “Wanderlust”, which just opened yesterday. It stars Paul Rudd, who you know is one of my absolute favorite actors. I will see anything that he’s in. He is so adorable. Jennifer Aniston plays his wife, and they are surprisingly cute together, which I didn’t expect. “Wanderlust” is not a good movie at all, but it has some funny moments, and again, if you are just looking for some laughs and a big bucket of popcorn it isn’t all bad.
So what’s the verdict? Definitely not four thumbs up. I would say 1/2 a thumb up for each of us for each of the films. Believe me, you will not be seeing these films on the Academy Awards list next year, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth seeing. Personally I would recommend waiting until they’re On Demand, unless you are desperate to get out of the house for a couple of hours.
