It is a big morning, especially for actors, writers, producers, directors — everyone involved with movies. Imagine sleeping peacefully in L.A. this morning and being woken by the sound of your phone ringing… at first you want to roll over but then you glance over and peek at your phone, seeing who is on the other end… your agent, or at least somebody involved with the Academy.
“You’ve been nominated!” you hear as your first waking words. These words could change your life forever, if you are someone like Rooney Mara, who was just nominated for Best Actress for her role in “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”. They may just confirm that you made the right choice all those years ago when you decided to pursue acting, like George Clooney who was just nominated for Best Actor for his role in “The Descendants”. He had better win this year! I am not a huge Clooney fan, but he was wonderful in this movie and certainly deserves the recognition after all these years.
So now what do those nominated for an Academy Award need to do to get ready?
Get hair extensions, hair color, haircuts,
Sleep a lot,
Starve some more,
Exercise longer and harder,
Go on a juice fast, and…
Prepare acceptance speeches.
Good luck everyone!
