Older Men/Younger Women: A Love Story

Ever since my 79 year old father started dating his 52 year old girlfriend there have been some major changes.  First of all, he looks incredible! Secondly, he is happier than I’ve ever seen him in my entire life of knowing him.  He is so grateful to have found her and to have her in his life, and I totally get it.

After losing my mom last year, his partner for 54 years, he could be sitting in Las Vegas feeling lonely.  He is a woman magnet, but he is easily bored, and not just any woman will do for him.  My mother was extremely bright and beautiful and challenging, and kept him on his toes until the day she died.  Although he had plenty of women who wanted to spend time with him after she died (and before she died for that matter, though he was faithful until the end as far as I know), he needed the right woman.  Someone beautiful, athletic, smart, successful, sexy.  And he found her.  She has been a bright light, a breath of fresh air, a blooming flower in the middle of an arid desert.

My father is getting anti-aging facials and looks younger than ever.

My father is taking cialis and loving it.

My father is taking Pilates now in addition to working out on his treadmill 365 days a year.

My father is driving around in his new Aston Martin convertible with his new iphone hooked up to bluetooth.  He can text now! Before my mom died he didn’t even use a cell phone (other than to call the valet to have his car ready after dinner every night).

My father has a smile from ear to ear.

Thank you Carol!

I love you Daddy.
